Vladimir Nikolayevsky was born in 1957.
A painter, graphic artist, designer and publisher, Nikolayevsky developed a style of his own on the basis of scumbling technique, which was used in medieval Russian art.

Nikolayevsky graduated from the Moscow Art School of Commercial Advertising in 1977, took private icon painting classes, was involved in church interior decoration and the manufacture of church utensils and did mosaics for public buildings. Since 1984 he has engaged in typographical design and cooperated with various publishers. His designs have been used in numerous posters, booklets, art exhibition catalogues, books of reproductions, etc.

A member of the Moscow Artists Union and the International Federation of Artists (IFA), Nikolayevsky participated in different shows, including:
